Lush Cosmetics: Mask of Magnaminty

 

Hello, My Name is Kate and I'm addicted to face masks. 

       When I first tried this I was pleasantly surprised, my skin looked radiant and felt so smooth even days after use. The only problem I encountered while using this mask is that the large exfoliating pieces got stuck in the mesh strainer that I use in my sink drain. So, I decided to use this in the shower since I knew that it wouldn't cause the same problem. 

      Honestly I don't think this masks works well in the shower for the face because of the moisture in the air doesn't let the clay dry.  BUT!! Since this is a face AND body mask I decided to use it on my shoulders because I do suffer from a little body acne and it has literally turned it around for me. 

    I apply this mask twice a week in the shower to my shoulders after I apply my hair conditioner and let it sit while I wash my body. Ever since I started using this about a month ago my body acne has subsided, my shoulders are smooth and although the acne has left a little scarring this is the only product that has treated my shoulder acne successfully. 

I would definitely recommend this to people who suffer from any type of acne and doesn't mind a little grit in the drain.

      

Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask Review

             First let me start off by saying this product is HUGE!! Second, I did have to do a little research on this product because what I had been reading on other blogs was that the full size was going for $40 on the Eva NYC website which is true BUT I got mine at Ulta. It was regularly priced at $14 but with a coupon i paid around $12 which is not bad for a mask of this size. I'm not sure why the pricing varies on different sites, I even saw that the mask was available at Khols for $28.

             Anyways...When I initially was looking for a new mask to try I came across this one, it had a great rating at Ulta.com so I figured "Why Not?". The size totally caught me by surprise when I picked it up, you get a lot of product in this package and when I used it I barely made a dent.

            So far I'm loving this product, when i use it my hair feels really soft  while looking shiny and healthy. Although, I do have to be careful with how often I use this mask because it contains protein since my hair is naturally curly and prone to dryness ,too much protein can cause it to be more dehydrated. 

Overall I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for an extra boost for their hair and if you are looking to purchase this product definitely do your research so you don't make the mistake of overpaying.
            

Summer Bombshell Makeup!!

First thing's first: This video is hella long. For that I apologize, I've been trying to figure out the best ways to film my videos so that editing isn't as difficult. Everyday Summer Makeup! Great for Vacation!

So, this year I got really lucky and was able to go on a free cruise thanks to my friend that works at a travel agency. She won the cruise and she invited me to go with her and another one of our close friends. While on vacation I learned a lot about simplifying my makeup routine and it carried over into my daily life when I got back. Hello Readers!!!

          I know It's been a LONG time, 3 years if you want to get technical. These years have been a lot of things from happy, challenging , exciting and everywhere in between. Although I've been gone for a while I haven't forgotten everything I love and all the hopes I have for this blog to be not only an outlet for me but a resource for you.

        Today is the first day I'm rejoining the beauty community and even though my return is extremely small compared to others it is no less important. CND Shellac Review

                  About 4 weeks ago I went out of town with my 3 girlfriends for our yearly vacation (that explains why I've been a little MIA). Now, I'm completely obsessed with my nails, I like to them look good all the time without chipping or peeling but most of the time that isn't the case. My nails tend to be brittle so they peel and split alot so when I use nail polish I usually will have to retouch it after the 1st day. I had heard of shellac through YouTube and Beauty bloggers but I hadn't had a reason to try it yet so i figured right before my vacation would be an opportune time to test it out.

                I'm completely Impressed with this product and I've actually been back to get it redone since then. It definitely is different from the gel nails I've had done. I haven't been a fan of gel nails only because I hate how thick it feels and the Shellac feels and looks like regular nail polish. On a 1-10 scale I give it a 10 if its done well and a 7 if its not. The reason i say this is because even with this polish, if not applied correctly it can look thick, I know this because the 1st time i had it done that's what it was like, I gave it a 2nd chance and it proved itself to me and now I'm on my 3rd time having it done. 

                 I'll definitely be getting this done often, it stays on for a long time , its constantly shiny and its so comfortable. I highly recommend this to anyone who is thinking of getting it.

On Tuesday I was trying to figure out how i was going to fit a Pink Wednesday post into my blog this week. I didn't want to do it the day before mainly because I just didn't feel like wearing makeup. And the next day I had to work early in the morning so I wouldn't have time to post it early in the day. China Glaze Crackle Glaze and OPI Black Shatter Comparison (With Pictures)

I have to admit, I'm addicted to these Crackle/ Shatter polish's. Now, from the looks of it the China Glaze and the OPI  Polish's don't have a whole lot of difference's. The main thing that I'm noticing, is that the OPI polish is a tiny bit less crackly. I do like the OPI a little better for one reason, that is that the brush is wider than the china glaze and it comes in handy because you need to apply the polish quickly because it dries fast.

Overall I think the Crackle/ Shatter polish's are fun and they're a good way to jazz up any nail polish collection.

China Glaze Crackle Glaze Review!! (With Pictures)

I was soooooo excited when i heard that China Glaze was coming out with a 6 piece crackle collection. I wanted to try the OPI Black Shatter from their Katy Perry Collection but my Ulta was all out! So when i got wind of this collection i ordered it on amazon right away, before any stores got it. I have to say, I'm really Impressed.

 Word to the wise.Whenever you apply these you have to make sure the nail polish is fully dry because I've noticed that in my impatient moments that the crackle didn't crack correctly. It dosen't look bad, the crackle just looks really vertical and, I like it more in rectangles.

Overall, I'm really Impressed with this and I'll definitely be buying these if they come out in more shades the only one I had a problem with is the Purple, it has its crackle moments and the other times its in weird lines.I also heard that OPI's Pirates of the Caribbean Collection is going to have a Silver Shatter,I'm gonna be all over that!

Tip of the week!- Keeping your eyeshadow on all day!

So, this week's tip is gonna be really short. I've been working to get more things together for this blog because sometimes when i come to do the tip of the week I get really blank so I want to have some interesting things to tell you guys .

Anyways, here are some tips for keeping on your eyeshadow all day:

• Use and eyeshadow primer, yes they can be a bit pricey at times but it's totally worth it. Just apply it all over your lid up to your eyebrow then apply any eyeshadow you want.
• If you don't have an eyeshadow primer use some concealer or foundation on your eyelid then set it with some translucent powder then apply your powder eyeshadow. DON"T USE THIS WITH CREME EYESHADOW! It'll just blend together and create a really wierd color and you don't want that.

• Wet & Wild Fantasy Makers in red and black , i scraped some off and mixed them together till i got the right color
